Medical consent

1. What you are consenting to

By giving this consent you agree to receive care through the Mesura Health programme, comprising: (a) clinical assessment of your suitability, based on the information you provide; (b) consultation with a registered medical practitioner at the partner clinic providing your care; (c) prescribing, where your doctor decides it is appropriate — prescription is never guaranteed, and "no" is a normal outcome; (d) dispensing by the clinic's licensed pharmacy; and (e) ongoing monitoring and support over WhatsApp, including check-ins, measurement tracking, and escalation of anything concerning to your care team.

Your doctor retains full clinical independence, including the freedom to decline to prescribe, to change or hold treatment, and to stop it. Every clinical decision is made by your doctor — not by Mesura, and not by software.

2. The consultation: what it is and its limits

2.1 Your consultations take place by video, including your first one. You do not need to travel to the clinic to begin, and you can take part from anywhere in Malaysia.

2.2 A video consultation has limits, and you should understand them before you consent: your doctor relies on what you tell them and what can be seen on screen, without a physical examination. That makes the accuracy and completeness of what you tell them more important than it would be in person — see §6.

2.3 Your doctor may require you to be seen in person, or to have tests or measurements done, before prescribing or at any point during treatment, and will do so whenever video care is not clinically adequate for you. You may also ask to be seen in person at any time. If a technical failure interrupts a consultation, the clinic will re-establish contact or rebook.

2.4 In line with Malaysian Medical Council rules, no medical certificate is issued on the basis of a video-only consultation — which, in this programme, means we cannot issue one.

2.5 The programme channel is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 999 or go to the nearest emergency department. If you are struggling emotionally or have thoughts of self-harm, Talian HEAL (MOH): 15555 is free and confidential.

3. The treatment being considered

3.1 The programme supports medical weight management. Where your doctor prescribes, treatment is with prescription medicine dispensed by the partner pharmacy. Which medicine and what dose are your doctor's decisions, made with you against the current Malaysian product label; doses change only after doctor review, and the programme never communicates dosing except from your doctor.

3.2 Risks and side effects. Prescription weight-management medicines have real side effects — commonly gastrointestinal (nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea), and rarely serious ones (including pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and severe allergic reaction). Before any treatment begins, your treating doctor will discuss with you the specific risks, side effects, contraindications and warnings of the specific medicine proposed, and this consent is not complete until that discussion has happened. Report side effects promptly on your programme channel; report emergencies to 999.

3.3 Alternatives. Your doctor will discuss the alternatives as part of consent — including other treatments, lifestyle-only approaches, referral elsewhere, and doing nothing — so your choice is informed.

3.4 Where a medicine is used outside its registered indication. Only medicines registered with the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) are dispensed in this programme. If the medicine your doctor proposes is registered in Malaysia but not for the condition being treated, that is not a routine prescription and you will not be asked to treat it as one: your doctor will explain the registration status, what the evidence shows, and what the alternatives are, and will record your specific agreement in your clinical record before prescribing. You may decline, and declining is a normal answer.

3.5 No outcome is guaranteed. Results differ for each person; your progress is measured and shared with you honestly.

4. Software and AI in your care — disclosure

You understand and agree that: the programme uses software, including AI, to draft routine messages, route what you send, and prepare summaries for your doctor; every message you send is screened for red-flag symptoms and concerning messages are escalated to humans; and the AI never diagnoses, never prescribes, and never sets or changes doses — those are your doctor's acts alone.

Where that AI runs. On a model operated by the partner clinic on its own infrastructure in Malaysia. Your messages are not sent to any external AI company and are not used to train anyone's models. Other service providers who handle your data — messaging, payments, hosting — are described in the Privacy Policy.

You may ask for a human at any point.

5. Your information

Care requires processing your health information — sensitive personal data under the PDPA 2010, processed only with your explicit consent — and sharing it between Mesura (which runs the programme) and the partner clinic (which provides clinical care), as described in the Privacy Policy and Privacy Practices documents. The clinic keeps its statutory medical record of your care. Mesura Health is the brand of Vast Dynamic Ltd, a Hong Kong company, so your programme data is transferred to and controlled from outside Malaysia; your consent covers that transfer, and the detail is in the PDPA Data Protection Notice §3. Marketing and research consents are separate and optional, and saying no to them changes nothing about your care.

6. Your responsibilities

Give accurate and complete health information, and tell us promptly about: pregnancy, breastfeeding or plans to conceive; new medicines or diagnoses; hospitalisations; planned surgery; and any symptom that worries you. Use medication exactly as prescribed and never share it. Incomplete information can make treatment unsafe.

7. Withdrawing consent

You may withdraw this consent at any time, without giving a reason, by messaging your programme channel, or by contacting our Data Protection Officer at support@mesura.health. If you withdraw:

  • Your care ends safely, not abruptly. Your doctor will advise on a safe stop or taper; you will not be left mid-titration without a plan, and the care team remains available through the transition.
  • Data processing stops except what the law requires us and the clinic to keep: the clinic's statutory medical record, and our consent/audit records and retained records per the retention schedule (details in the PDPA Notice §5).
  • Billing consequences are per the Refund Policy.

Withdrawing consent never affects the lawfulness of care already given, and you may return to the programme later, subject to reassessment.

8. Recording your consent

Consent is captured before any health question is asked, recorded in an append-only consent ledger with the consent text version, date, time, channel and the message reference in which you gave it, and is available to you on request.

9. Declaration

I confirm that I am 18 or older, registering for my own care; that I have read (or had explained to me, in a language I understand) this consent, the Privacy Policy and the PDPA Notice; that I have had the chance to ask questions; and that I consent to (1) care through the Mesura Health programme as described, including remote consultation where clinically appropriate, and (2) the processing of my health information by Mesura and its sharing with the partner clinic providing my care, for my care. I understand prescription is my doctor's decision, that specific treatment risks will be discussed with me by my doctor before treatment begins, and that I may withdraw at any time.

How this declaration is captured. It is presented on WhatsApp in English and Bahasa Malaysia together, item by item, against versioned text, and each item is affirmed separately before any health question is asked. Your treatment-specific consent under §3 is a separate conversation: your doctor confirms it with you at the consultation and records it in your clinical record.

Mesura Health is the client-facing brand of Vast Dynamic Ltd, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (registration number 77131343). Your contract for the programme is with Vast Dynamic Ltd. Clinical care is provided by the registered partner clinic treating you.
